When to start using the bandage.

Usually from 20-24 weeks (earlier - as prescribed by a doctor).
Needed for: lower back pain/fatigue, abdominal heaviness, multiple pregnancies, weakness of the anterior abdominal wall, risk of stretch marks (as support), prolonged walking/standing work.

How to put it on correctly

It's best to put it on while lying on your back (or reclining), when your belly is positioned correctly.

Lie down with your knees bent (this will reduce pressure on your belly).
Place the bandage under your belly so it supports it from below, rather than pressing on top.
Fasten/tighten the Velcro straps to a moderate tightness: comfortable breathing, you can sit, but it doesn't feel too tight.
Get up and walk around: you should feel relief in your lower back/lower abdomen.
Proper fit: the bottom edge goes under your belly, the top edge goes along your waistline/below, without putting pressure on your uterus.

In what cases should the bandage be loosened or removed?

Remove/loosen the bandage immediately if:

it becomes difficult to breathe, you feel dizzy, or nauseous
pressure on the abdomen, pain increases, or there is muscle tension/spasms
your legs become numb, your feet become cold, or swelling worse than usual occurs
the baby suddenly begins to move very actively/painfully after being put on (this may cause uncomfortable pressure)
If there is a risk of premature labor, low-lying placentation/presentation, severe muscle tension, or skin problems, it is best to consult a doctor.
